I hope nobody is offended by the artwork. As today’s full moon is in conjunction with my natal Moon in Taurus, I thought that this image beautifully captures the mystery of the Great Round. In The Red Book Jung wrote about “the ever-fruitful womb of darkness,“ which I think is a fitting catchphrase for today’s full moon.

I finished the Red Book yesterday, but am rereading it. It is a very rich and complex read. Makes me wonder about active imagination which I have not experienced, or at least not in the sense that Jung did! I must admit it is scary to think of having that deep of an engagement with characters whose origins are unknown.

I “liked” your post, Monika, but not with the usual enthusiasm. Only because I’m seeing this as the birth-death-rebirth cycle we all need to evolve off of! 😉 While we must, we are ever in need of the next door that opens, and the door the closes, and the one behind it as we move into the next, and the next. You are right, of course… there is certainly a profound beauty upholding this “great round”.

Oh, I didn’t mean to confuse. Yes, my reference is of our working through, transmuting our karma until the last of it is burned off, in all planes of being, that yes, we are ultimately freed from having to take on a human form again. Parinirvana.
