love this!!! How is Chiron treating you? I adore Frida and could imagine having lived here life. If it were nto for my theme, I would blog about her.Does she fit your theme? 😉
I sensed this because she emerged on your blog today! Have you seen the film? It is spectacular! I am kind of obsessed with her and Diego. Their art is aligned with my spirit.
you have great taste Monika! Take this time to refuel and regenerate.
Another perspective. So insightful. Not often we see our woundedness in this way. Perhaps a kind of woundedness that is far greater than we think. Its very nature (avoidance) I think, tends to make it unconscious and that I believe in some ways intensifies the woundedness. Thanks Monika.
What caught my eye in this painting is the cloud formation in the background. It looks like a blending of a heart with two lovers embracing. My interpretation: she is still feeling the pain from a relationship that is off in the distant past.
A painting which holds much interest.. and I need to look up Frida Kahlo, “The Wounded Deer”
We should all be aware of how all battles wound us… and what we do affects others..
Sending you my thoughts enjoy your weekend Monika.. Love Sue xox
I’m sure you have read and enjoyed the following before, but I have not long stumbled upon this delightful verse, and in being reminded of this post by Lampmagician’s reblog, thought I’d share it here and give it another airing. It seemed somehow fitting 🙂
~ The Divine Mother ~
Hear me child, and know Me for who I am.
I have been with you since you were born, and I will stay with you until you return to Me at the final dusk.
I am the passionate and seductive lover who inspires the poet to dream.
I am the One who calls to you at the end of your journey. After the day is done, My children find their blessed rest in my embrace.
I am the womb from which all things are born.
I am the shadowy, still tomb; all things must come to Me and bare their breasts to die and be reborn to the Whole.
I am the Sorceress that will not be ruled, the Weaver of Time, the Teacher of Mysteries. I snip the threads that bring my children home to me. I slit the throats of the cruel and drink the blood of the heartless.
Swallow your fear and come to me, and you will discover true beauty, strength, and courage.
I am the fury which rips the flesh from injustice.
I am the glowing forge that transforms your inner demons into tools of power. Open yourself to my embrace and overcome.
I am the glinting sword that protects you from harm.
I am the crucible in which all the aspects of yourself merge together in a rainbow of union.
I am the velvet depths of the night sky, the swirling mists of midnight, shrouded in mystery.
I am the chrysalis in which you will face that which terrifies you and from which you will blossom forth, vibrant and renewed. Seek me at the crossroads, and you shall be transformed, for once you look upon my face, there is no return.
I am the fire that kisses the shackles away. I am the cauldron in which all opposites grow to know each other in Truth. I am the web which connects all things.
I am the Healer of all wounds, the Warrior who rights all wrongs in their Time.
I make the weak strong. I make the arrogant humble. I raise up the oppressed and empower the disenfranchised. I am Justice tempered with Mercy.
Most importantly, child, I am you. I am part of you, and I am within you. Seek me within and without, and you will be strong. Know me. Venture into the dark so that you may awaken to Balance, Illumination, and Wholeness. Take my Love with you everywhere and find the Power within to be who you wish.
I really did not know this poem before and I receive it with deep gratitude. The story of this post “Wounded” is deeply personal of course – actually like most of the stuff on my blog. The poem says, “It raise up the oppressed and empower the disenfranchised.” That gives me chills because I am about to go to court and hope to emerge empowered after this.
Another fascinating thing about that short post is that recently it got viral somewhere on the web and dramatically spiked my statistics.
The wounded heart sunk within the depth of God sings
It rises from the pond alive
As if new-born.
I believe in my heart that what I wring from myself
To tinge life’s canvas
With red of pallid hue, thus cloaking it
In luminous garb.
You strike me as a formidable adversary Monika with your rapier like intelligence and steadfast Faith. ‘Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes […] Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of Faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of Salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God’ (Ephesians 6:10-18). And as a warrior you will rise to a new name and stand triumphant in your success.
Good luck, and best wishes. May the truth prevail 🙂
Beautiful and most helpful. Kind of freakishly psychic of you, too. 😉
Well, all went very well for me today. Feeling quite delighted.
Thank you deeply.

Sure she does, she has always been one of my favourite painters. Chiron is making me withdraw right now… Thank you very much for your concern.

I thought of you Monika when I ran across this blog with a post about Native American folklore and a myth about deer people: http://intothewonder.wordpress.com/2014/01/12/deer-people-native-american-forest-folk/

Nice find! Thank you, Debra. Deer is actually among my totem animals, as a wise woman once told me.

A great totem! The deer has associations with Artemis, I think, yes? I have always felt close to her.
